Files overview link isn’t opening any content
Thanks, updated
Files overview erroring as “Invalid language code. Check that the language is included in your Knowledge language settings/”
In general it sounds like too many options with different name and intermingled topics. My God give strength to customers to figure out what they have and how to use it :).

Lol yeah there are a LOT of terms 🙂
Hi John, I seem to be having issues opening the following section “Upload Files to Notes & Attachments List in Salesforce Classic” in Firefox and Chrome. It says “Application Error”. Any chance you could look into this? Thank you in advance.
PS: I love your website. Very helpful. Am preparing for my certification exam which will be in San Francisco October 3 @Dreamforce 2016.
Thanks! It’s fixed- was an issues on the SFDC side of things
Files Sync doesn’t appear to be available is Chatter Settings anymore (not in my Summer ’16 edition).
Its not under Chatter – just search “files” in set up
Hi John – I dont see the File Sync option neither in Chatter settings or In the user profiles section on the developer org that im using.
Am i missing something here ?
Take a look at: http://docs.releasenotes.salesforce.com/en-us/spring14/release-notes/rn_chatter_files_enable_organization.htm
Also do you have content enabled? If an older org, you may need to raise a case to have it turned on.
hi john,
Getting started content video, i m trying same way to learn abt content but i didnt find workspace tab any whare,
but that i found was libraries.
and have same functionality.
Is it the same?
Tejal.
It was renamed- please see the comment in the key facts
I have found this question but i dont know exacly anwser
What is a method for adding content to Salesforce CRM content? Choose 2 answer
A. chatter files
B. attachment
C. documents
D. libraries
I have found thats chatter files can be stored in CRM content after checking box in configuration.
And i CRM content you cant making libraries but i dont know that thru this libabries i can ading content ?
Yes Libraries is the primary way to add files to content, the answer should be AD
Can you please explain how you can get Chatter files in Content?
When I go to a specific chatter feed in my dev org with a specific file, I don’t see any option towards Content.
I have the option to download or sync this file, upload a new version, preview, view file detailes or change file sharing settings
When you upload a file in Chatter, click on the file itself. There should be a link in the top right to the “Go to Content Detail Page”
Hi,
Great website.
Are you sure that Chatter Files can be used to add files to Content? When I add a file on the chatter homepage fromy my PC it doesnt go into Content. It goes into Files.
Thanks,
Kam
It goes to both in my org (can’t recall if I changed a setting). When viewing the file, above the file preview window I have “Go to Content Detail Page” on the right.
Version control is also applicable to chatter files, in addition to content. So, whats the main difference between Content and Chatter files?
There is a lot of overlap between the two – content was designed as a repository and is better suited to static resources (e.g. manuals, product brochures, etc.) . Chatter files can be used to directly associate the file to the record inline with chatter, and is faster to attach content, more conversational. Chatter inherits record security while content has its own security. The features are similar but usage/execution is quite different.
Thanks John..
Of course I saw the note about Workspaces being renamed to Libraries after I made the comment above. Please ignore.
I am not finding workspaces in my developer addition or company instance. Are workspaces still used?
Workspaces was renamed to libraries
I am not able to see clone and customize option in content details page.i am using developer edition
Hi John, I think you forgot to answer this question. I cannot see the clone & customize option either in the Content detail page.
Where are you seeing the reference to this button in the materials/docs?
In the video Getting started with Salesforce Content by Alex Zarowny. I think they also show it in the first video Sales Cloud – Content Library Demo
Apologies for the delay on this question- you are correct. This button was removed from the product by Salesforce: https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000apiMAAQ
Chatterbox has been discontinued.
Thanks updated
Chatterbox is still in the section with a 15m video that links to Chatter. As Ron pointed out, it was discontinued in Sept 2013. replaced by FIles. http://venturebeat.com/2013/09/05/salesforce-kills-chatterbox-expands-its-file-sharing-tools-with-new-files-feature/
Gone, thanks
Since pointing out typos seems to be the thing around here, I’ll add that the first Key Facts overview in the table has one:
No sharing mechanism, but can be files can be exposed for public consumption.
Should be this I think:
No sharing mechanism, but files can be exposed for public consumption.
Thanks – updated. If this turns into a day job, I will get an editor 🙂
I’m nearing the end of the guide and it’s pretty clear to me that you have plenty of editors that work for free. Actually, they pay you to work , that’s even better!
After enabling content deliveries I am missing the option to deliver content in my developer edition. (I also checked if I am a Salesforce CRM content user)
What am I missing here?
I found the problem. The administrator of a library does not automatically has the permission the deliver content. Take the following steps to enable this:
Customize | Salesforce CRM Content | Content Permissions and click Edit next to the “Library Administrator” permission.
Enable the “Deliver content” permission
Thanks for sharing the solution, helped me a lot as I can see a whole lot of permissions options now.
