  1. Bob is a Salesforce system administrator. He creates a sandbox to test a feature that will require activation. Bob submits a case to Salesforce support from the production environment. Support requests the org ID of the environment that Bob would like the feature activated within. Bob can provide support the production org ID, as the sandbox and production org IDs will match.

Only in the case where the sandbox created is a developer sandbox.
Only in the case where the sandbox created is a full sandbox.
Yes, the production org ID will always match the org ID of its sandboxes.
No, the production org ID will never match the org ID of any of its sandboxes.
    Incorrect
The Org ID is unique for all Salesforce environments including production and sandbox orgs.
the ans is only in the case where the sandbox created is a full sandbox.

    1. The org id of a full sandbox will not match the org id of its production environment.

The records created within the org prior to clone will (e.g. accounts, contacts, etc.) but the org id itself will be different.

  2. Q1. My interpretation of the question was what OrgID should Bob provide as the Org he wants feature “activated” into. I assumed he was requesting support for “activation” into Production…after having built and “tested” in Sandbox.

Good question/exercise to explain OrgIDs are all unique…but is this type of scenario confusion typical on the exam? I realize this topic is only 1%

  3. Hi John:

Any idea if Salesforce would offer default Holidays based on locale like language and currency?
That would be a nice feature. Imagine That an US based company has a lead in Brazil and 2 sales people are working on it. One is US based and the other is Brazil based, so both have different business hours and holidays. Any thoughts?

    Thanks

  4. I am confuse too, looks like both answers are correct:
The Org ID is unique for all Salesforce environments including production and sandbox orgs.
No, the production org ID will never match the org ID of any of its sandboxes.

  5. I’m confused by question 1.
It showing the correct answer as: “No, the production org ID will never match the org ID of any of its sandboxes.”
The result of my incorrect selection states:
    “Incorrect
The Org ID is unique for all Salesforce environments including production and sandbox orgs.”

But the The Key Facts section of Company Profile for Salesforce Org id states:
“The Salesforce Org ID is unique to every Salesforce Org (regardless of edition, sandbox or production)”

This means to me that the sandbox and production would be the same? Is there a nuance in the wording I’m missing?

    1. “No, the production org ID will never match the org ID of any of its sandboxes”

is the correct answer and is marked as such on the quiz.

Correct- the org id of a production org and sandbox would not be the same.

  6. Hi John; can you clarify something on question 2. I agree with the answer, however am confused on the impact of Fiscal Years on Opportunity reporting as there is a note in the referenced SF training documentation as follows: “Your organization will not be able to use fiscal period columns in opportunity, opportunity with product, or opportunity with schedule reports.” So would IPI be able to report on their opportunity pipeline segmented by fiscal quarter? Thanks!

  7. Hi There.. firstly would like to say that this site is a god send for a Salesforce Newbie like myself.. Far easier to navigate than Salesforce Partner Training pages. I was just wondering if there was any input on Sandboxes on this section, as if there was I missed it and that question completely threw me. Thanks again 🙂

  8. Hi John,

We have created business hours name and assigned holidays to that. However, there is no member assigned to that and who will be responsible for the escalation if any?

    Thanks

    1. Business hours alone do not determine escalation – just when the timer for escalation counts. The service cloud section will discuss escalation in more detail… I would recommend reviewing that material and seeing if it answers any outstanding questions. Feel free to post there as well! Cheers,

      John

  9. Hi John,
I am not sure if the below sentence is correct or not . Please clarify.
In the quiz it is mentioned as – A recurring holiday must be added for each holiday and associated to the appropriate business hours.
Is recurring holiday not associated with the team (Business hour team name)?

    Thanks.

  10. Hey John,

How big are the differences between the SFDC updates in relation to the exams? Is it minicular enough to not worry about writing after the new years?

  11. Hi John,

In question 3 above, is it the case that both the answers below are technically correct but we should be selecting the first one because it is performed prior to the second (below)?

“Business hours must be configured to define the working hours Mon-Sun, 8a-8p.
Salesforce automatically adds holidays, simply select all that apply.”

“A recurring holiday must be added for each holiday and associated to the appropriate business hours.”

    Thanks,
    Emily

  12. Do some organizations have more than one environment and therefore several unique Org IDs? Other than a “production environment” or “sandbox environment”, are there others?

  13. Another nit
Salesforce automatically add holidays, simply select all that apply.

    Should be
Salesforce automatically adds holidays, simply select all that apply.

  14. Where would one find the various other (sandbox) IDs? Im not sure why they shouldnt match, other than to differentiate between the two…especially in the cloud.

    1. Hi David,

I have always gotten the sandbox ID by logging into the sandbox and going to the company information page.

The org ID must be unique for every org – this is the ID that uniquely describes the org. If you were to submit a feature request to Salesforce, you wouldn’t want two different orgs to have the same ID; there would be no easy way to differentiate between the two.

      Cheers,

      John

  15. Hi John,
I am currently looking at the solution from the Quiz from Company Profile topics. I am afraid that I disagree with the answer from Question 1. Full sandboxes have the same ID as the Production environment.
Could you please clarified as I am confused?
    Cheers,
    Sandrine

  16. They mean that when the correct and incorrect answers are highlighted the text is very hard to read because it’s gray – it would help if the text was black when showing the correct and or incorrect answers.
