At CertifiedOnDemand.com we want to you read and post comments. Part of what makes this community so valuable is the interaction between you and other folks just like you: they’re also learning and have similar questions, concerns, and feedback.
This is a learning community – and we want your help to make it great. Before we turn on comments on for your account, we want to make sure that guidelines and expectations are clear:
Let’s get the negatives out of the way first. Here are the things that you are not permitted to do (violation will result in comments being turned off on your account):
- Do not post practice questions from other sites (there are a variety of reasons for this: potential copyright/plagiarism issues, poorly worded questions, etc.). If you really need clarification on a question from another site, please reword the question – do not copy/paste the question and post it in the comments.
- Do not post the same comment on multiple pages. If you have a question that pertains to both an objective and a resource, please choose only one to comment on.
- Do not post your personal contact details (e.g. email address) in the comments.
Now that the negatives are out, let’s talk about some of the ways that you can get and provide help on CoD:
- Before you post, try to find the answer yourself (search Salesforce documentation, search Google, and most importantly: test and evaluate any relevant configuration inside of your environment). This is not only far faster than posting a comment but will also make you much more self-sufficient in the long run.
- If you find relevant information, please post a comment. Others will probably be interested to know as well.
- Use clear and concise wording, with proper vocabulary. Example: Use the term “List View” (Salesforce terminology) instead of “Dropdown Menu” (generic terminology). “Dropdown Menu” could mean several things, while “List View” is specific.
- Attach a screenshot; the comments section will allow you to upload them directly. This often helps immeasurably.
- If you are referencing a practice question (from CoD only), please include the body of the question in your comment. Please only post quiz questions on the page where the question originated.
- If English is not your first language, I totally get it. I’ve worked with students around the world. But please, make sure that your question is coherent – and if you aren’t sure, try running it through a reverse translation (e.g. via Google Translate) before posting.
- Feel free to answer or contribute to existing threads. One of the ways that I’ve learned the most over the years is by answering other people’s questions. It’s win-win.
- Be positive. Learning can be frustrating, I totally get that. But please be polite and respectful when posting.
Good to Know
Lastly, here are a few things you should be aware of:
- Comments are enabled on objectives and resources. Please navigate to the objective or resource in order to provide feedback (the intention is to keep conversations focused on specific topics). You can comment on each module feedback page, if there isn’t a relevant objective or resource.
- When posting a comment, your display name (which may personally identify you) will be displayed publicly.
- You can change your display name on the Profile page, but it is not retroactive. So please make sure to update your profile before you post any comments.
- There are feedback pages throughout each guide that will allow you to share your thoughts privately (without posting a comment).
